The start and end of this Thames Path walk both require buses for connection with trains at Oxford. At the end of the walk there is a 2 mile walk from Newbridge to reach Kingston Bagpuize for the bus.
The path from the road back to the river passes between two properties
Finally back at the river’s edge
Looking back towards the boatyard between the end of the previous walk and the start of this one
Approaching Pinkhill lock
Pinkhill lock
Heading away from the lock on the island
The first of many fields where the path runs away from the riverside
The river is behind the trees on the left
The path is back beside the revier for a while
The slightly flatter grass shows the path running across this field
After a series of fields (to the right in this picture) the path reaches a tarmac road via a kissing gate
Shortly up the road, have to watch out for this sign as the path turns sharp left across more fields
The path runs alongside the edge of some fields where there were piles of branches ready to be burned
Another road (this one with actual traffic) heads back towards the riverside
Keep straight on to head past the caravans and holiday homes at Babcock Hythe
And again we reach the riverside
The path continues beside the river, through a series of gates
Some gates are a little overgrown
Notice the gap for cycle wheels
A series of meanders
A gate without a fence
Cottage at Northmoor Lock
Another gate (on a bridge) on the riverside path
Looking back for a while – classic Thames Path marker
A straight patch of river with rushes by the side
Old style concrete bridge
Turning the bend on the approach to Newbridge
Another meander, showing some bankside erosion
Approaching Newbridge
The bridge at Newbridge
Looking back from atop the Newbridge bridge
